Faith is one of those words that is commonly used but not always understood. Some of that confusion comes from the word being used in many different ways in our daily lives. In a non-religious context, faith generally refers to a strong belief or trust in something; whether it’s a person, a concept or system. It can also involve a commitment to a particular belief or value.

Faith in God's Word in Action

Faith in God’s Word is a must for God’s ministry in action. Scripture explicitly states that Faith in Jesus alone saves us, while works serve.

Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our Faith depends from beginning to end.  Hebrews 12:2

Faith in God’s Word refers to trusting in and acting upon the Bible as the revealed truth of God. The Bible tells us that “faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen”.

To have faith is to be sure of things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1

Faith, as defined above, can be a life-altering benefit. Faith is a belief, trust and obedience to God and His Word.  As we travel our road of life, we have experienced hard times of all sorts. Some events are physical and plenty of personal issues of all kinds. In these situations, we have a tendency towards faith in other things or people and not reliance on God and trusting His plan for us.

For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved through Faith. It is not the results of your own efforts, but God’s gift so no one can boast about it.  Ephesians 2: 8-9

As we travel life’s path, we have faith in many ideals, physical things, and people, and that is part of our life’s journey. Following faith in God’s Word is the basis for living life to the fullest. Jesus is with us always on this journey, and having faith in Him as we complete God’s plan for us.

God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.  1 Corinthians 1:9
